The first time i heard abt a full fledged vada pav outlet it was hard to believe wich i remeber my frend told me..so what has made this once small store in Dadar(e), into 23 outlets al spread al over mumbai..?? Yes,gud management by gud managers..This chain was developed by two Symbiosis grads Reeta gupta looks after the marketing and liaison and Dheeraj gupta looks after the franchising program, operations and finance.
Jumbo King began its journey to brand the Vada Pav on 23rd August 2001. Inspired by western models and applying it to Indian food, Jumbo King believes that the common man has the constitutional right to get hygienic food at an affordable price!
Jumbo King celebrates 23rd August as the Vada Pav Day since on that day of 2001 it came into existence.
The Journey…
23rd August 2001 – First Outlet was opened.
23rd August 2003 – 2 outlets existed.
23rd August 2004 – Jumbo King reached to a figure of 6 outlets.
23rd August 2005 – 15 outlets were in the operation mode.
Priety Zinta was a Chief Guest on Vada Pav Day.
23rd August 2006 – Targeting for at least 30+ outlets.
